CRADLE OF THORNS
CRADLE OF THORNS by Frank Wolfe IV 2024
A strange stillness falls over the outskirts where nature claws back at the edges of civilization. There, amidst the twisting tangles of a thorn bush, lies a woman draped in shadows. She moves with a calculated grace, her body poised like a predator—silent, watching, waiting. To her, the thorn bush isn’t just a refuge; it’s her web, and she is the spider, queen of her small and jagged domain. But as the first flickers of twilight scatter across the sky, the ground begins to quake beneath her feet. Crimson vines shoot up into the air, forming an enormous, pulsing cocoon that splits open with a deafening roar. Eyes wide with both terror and exhilaration, she watches as a monstrous hybrid of metal and foliage emerges, its rose-like maw dripping with venom.
Has the hunter now become the hunted?
